One of a collection of 22 books found in a special footlocker stashed inside Count Lowls‘ private study in Iris Hill.
During the course of Chapter 90, the party took the time to skim through this book to get a sense of it:
- Language: Modern Osiriani
- Content: A journal prepared posthumously by the doctor and dreamer Tamrat Shepses-ib, who not only writes in the first person, but uses his full name to begin every sentence. The doctor dreamed of living in a city called Arventon, but was banished to the caves below for some unknown crime. In the underdark, he found the mythical Black Lake, which served him as a source of food and water during his exile years, but was haunted by all manner of dangers. The book describes in detail how to remedy the 1,222 curses, poisons, and diseases that he encountered there, one of which killed him in the end.
In Chapter 100, after uncovering the list of gifts for the Mad Poet, the party was able to organize the books into groupings of three that were each relevant to researching one particular gift. This book was discovered to have particular information on the Red Webbed Foot.
