Human male guarding the hall behind the barricade on the level above the dungeon in Briarstone Asylum. Imposing, wielding a crossbow, wearing street clothes and jury-rigged padded armor. Carries a club at his side. Tends to be solitary. A member of the kitchen staff at Briarstone Asylum.
In Chapter 18, he took Grip aside for a conversation, where Grip learned that he speaks Orcish and has some anger issues—significant enough that his pay was docked because of it. Denman referenced a sister that he sends money to.
In Chapter 19, he took active participation in the group combat with Mr. Gabriel after the doppelganger attempted to assassinate Dora, doing significant damage with his crossbow.
In Chapters 29 & 30 he took part in the battle for the chapel, pulling an unconscious Ray out of a raging rat swarm, slaying Master Longtail, and joining Grip and Gull in the final assault on Ratch Mamby.
In Chapter 31, the players learned his surname and that he sends money to his sister to support her.
In Chapter 45, Rony learned that Denman has an intricate cultural tattoo design on his chest of hundreds of swirling feathers representing wrongs done to him. His mother’s family was Sczarni, and she saw the feathers as a choice to be made: they can either lighten the load of the wrongs done to you, or they can lift you up and help you draw power from your experiences. He felt that the people at Briarstone were trying to erase his story by encouraging him to let go of his obsession with his feathers.
