A vast and (relatively) stable section of the Dimension of Dreams, accessible by an occult ritual named Dreamlands Excursion.
Known to be where the Mad Poet resides.
In Chapter 89, Dora learned the fundamentals of travel to the Dreamlands using the ritual:
- When you enter the Dreamlands, you manifest a lucid dream body that resembles your waking body; it has all the same spells prepared, all the same gear, same daily abilities remaining.
- Spells, abilities, and items used while adventuring in the Dreamlands are not expended upon waking.
- Damage experienced in the Dreamlands vanishes upon waking (except for Int, Wis, or Cha damage or drain; or Sanity Damage).
- However, death in the Dreamlands results in immediate traumatic awakening and instant madness. Die once, and it’s immediately (no save) a lesser madness. Die twice, and it’s a greater madness.
- Items found in the Dreamlands cannot be brought into the waking world, but they do persist from visit to visit.
- Since the Dreamlands are relatively stable, no matter what’s going on, you can rely on gravity, physics, and magic to all function basically as expected there.
- However, both Divine beings and particularly powerful dreamers can potentially transform the realm based on their wishes and whims.
- The flow of Time from your excursion can be expected to be reasonably stable and predictable: you will always return to your waking body from a journey to the Dreamlands roughly 6 to 8 hours after entering it (no matter how many hours, days, years, or centuries you spent there).
