Though Dora had read about the caravanserai being a living place populated by many travelers and staff during the period of time Lowls was attempting to learn more about the Mad Poet (and gifts to appease him), when the party arrived in Chapter 95, the place was devastated. The majority of the second floor had collapsed in on itself but for a room in the southeast corner. It appeared to have been subject to a divine being or particularly powerful dreamer’s will and the dream had changed.
In Chapter 99, the caravanserai was revealed to be the home of the Yellow King.
The party returned to the caravanserai in Chapter 145 and discovered that it was populated by Denizens of Leng, Yeth Hounds, and Shantaks.
