A roughly twelve-year-old boy from Dora’s psychometric reading of Grip’s constable badge. In the vision, Grip was holding a battleaxe to the kid’s throat, nudging it with his foot just enough to draw blood, and laughing.
In Chapter 40, during a confrontation with his sister, his name was revealed to be Sholn. His sister said that he was missing and demanded that Grip return him.
In Chapter 60, the party found him in a cell in the basement of Fort Hailcourse, trying to protect Cassandra, Lil' Pop, and the seriously wounded Harrison. They rescued him and returned him to the Sellen Starling for care.
In Chapter 168, Grip dreamed of the shame he felt over having harmed Sholn, since all the boy ever did was toss a pebble at him. The boy then began to manifest, visible only to Grip, when the party was in battle.
