One of a collection of 22 books found in a special footlocker stashed inside Count Lowls‘ private study in Iris Hill.
During the course of Chapter 90, the party took the time to skim through this book to get a sense of it:
- Language: Taldane
- Content: A translation in Taldane of what purports to be a manuscript from an alien planet. A scholar captured, in the planet’s primitive local language, the ravings of an indigent man who subsisted on the streets of a filthy industry town called “London.” This man had dreamed up a wholly imaginary city named Celephaïs that was so detailed he could list every king, every viscount, every baron in its history, along with their varying relationships to the unnamed deity that watched over it.
In Chapter 100, after uncovering the list of gifts for the Mad Poet, the party was able to organize the books into groupings of three that were each relevant to researching one particular gift. This book was discovered to have particular information on the Viscount's Signet Ring.
