On the night of the 4th of Kuthona, instead of the party dreaming Xhamen-Dor‘s dreams, the Inmost Blot dreamed their dreams of learning a new skill:

Grip dreamt of learning how to tie nautical knots, but he didn’t have any fingers. He sensed that he was being taught by crew members of the Starling, but their faces were blurred and indistinct. He kept working and working at this futile effort because there had to be something he could do that was productive and not destructive. His training was interrupted by a the sound of a sail ripping behind him. The dream felt True but not necessarily Real.

Dora dreamt of learning how to quiet her mind and focus. Thema was barraging her with questions, interfering with her ability to concentrate. But Dora continued her training because if she didn’t, she knew that all was lost. Her training was interrupted by a knock on a door. The dream felt True, but not Real.

Vik dreamt of learning how to escape the grasp of tentacled creatures. Well, one in particular: he was enveloped by the Formless Spawn. It kept trying to consume him over and over but Vik kept at it because he needed to survive. His training was interrupted by the Rag Man‘s laughter. The dream felt Real, but not exactly True.

Dabwick dreamt of learning how to move, shift, and get out of the way quickly. They were alone in a dark alley, and much younger. Their progress was slow but they kept at it because they knew they needed this skill to keep them safe from the enemies that surrounded them. Their training was interrupted by a sudden shaft of light. The dream felt Real, if not True.
